A landscape architect asked Duifhuizen to provide him something for an acoustic painting, as his newly built house in an old orchard was quite noisy. He absorbed the question and one day he decided to stroll through the orchard. After a while he went digging in two places close to the creek where the orchard ends up, hoping to find something that captured his imagination. He searched and was surprised by several findings. The art was there for the taking, it has already been there!
He chose two appealing findings (iron and pottery) and put their outlines on paper after which he 'filled' them with hand-set 0.03mm pigment lines utilizing a head magnifier.
Finally, a detail of the line drawing was enlarged into an acoustic painting 1.85 meters high by 3.64 meters wide. The line became a surface.
